Inside the South, you don't look for a lot of homes with basements. However, we are considering purchasing a property which includes this extra space. It can be unfinished, but we are still excited about the opportunity it has. I have a variety of design ideas for the space.
The flooring is concrete. As an alternative to try and alter that, I'd like to add a decorative concrete finish, then it looks like marble. My sister actually had this done in her house, i love the look. It stands up well to the kid and dog traffic, too, that is important to me.

Beyond that, the basement is currently one large space, and we would like to divide it up a little. I want a craft room, the kids want a playroom, and my partner wants a theater room. We've got enough space to create this all work, although I am not sure about the budget! I'd also like to have one open area, where individuals can sit and mingle once they come over.
All this remains to be in the dream phase, since we have not purchased the house. However, it is looking a lot more possible each day.
